In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus declared a path to "human flourishing" that opposes our natural inclinations. In His words and life, Jesus portrayed; meekness, humility, servanthood and esteem of others as the characteristics of the "blessed life." Zach Johnson explains that Jesus is not merely to be imitated as our example, but to be embraced by Repentance and Faith as the One who Is our Blessedness, and who works flourishing in us by the Holy Spirit.
