God's pupose for John's ministry as the Baptizing Prophet was to testify who Jesus truly is. John declared that Jesus is the Promised King, the Prophet greater than Moses, and the final Great High Priest and Sacraficial Lamb who makes full atonement for us and takes away the guilt of our sin. By faith in Him, we become sons of God and share in His anointing as Prophets, Priests and Kings.
